The Department of Social Work at Jai Bharath College offers a two-year full time programme leading to the degree of Master of Social Work (MSW) of Mahatma Gandhi University. The programme commences in July every year. The Department of Social Work in Jai Bharath College offers offers specializations in

Scope : MSW programme will provide training in practice of professional social work in broad areas followed by theoretical knowledge and skills in specialized fields of practice. The programme provides students with a choice of engaging with various areas including rural and urban community development; mental health; disability; children and youth; criminology and correctional social work; social justice and government. Along with classroom teaching, all students will undertake field work throughout the two years of study; as well as rural practicum and a study tour. Students will also have to take a research project towards the final semester of the programme.

Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission for MSW course shall be required to possess either a Bachelor's Degree from Mahatma Gandhi University or a Degree recognized as equivalent thereto with 50% marks in aggregate for Part l, ll & lll. 5C/5T candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination.  Candidates appearing for final year degree examinations in March/April are also eligible to apply for admission to the course, provided they should produce the proof of qualification on the date of counseling.
