Scope : MSW programme will provide training in practice of professional social work in broad areas followed by theoretical knowledge and skills in specialized fields of practice. The programme provides students with a choice of engaging with various areas including rural and urban community development; mental health; disability; children and youth; criminology and correctional social work; social justice and government. Along with classroom teaching, all students will undertake field work throughout the two years of study; as well as rural practicum and a study tour. Students will also have to take a research project towards the final semester of the programme.
Eligibility: Candidates seeking admission for MSW course shall be required to possess either a Bachelor's Degree from Mahatma Gandhi University or a Degree recognized as equivalent thereto with 50% marks in aggregate for Part l, ll & lll. 5C/5T candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. Candidates appearing for final year degree examinations in March/April are also eligible to apply for admission to the course, provided they should produce the proof of qualification on the date of counseling.
